Welcome to The Illinois Chapter of Safari Club International. I would like to introduce you to one of the most active hunting and conservation organizations in the State of Illinois. The Illinois Chapter was has been named the Conservation Organization of the Year in 2002 by the Illinois Conservation Foundation. We are an organization that puts the hunter first. In the state of Illinois we have donated over $60,000 to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. This year alone, we have donated $20,000 for the development of two laboratories to help in the fight against Chronic Wasting Disease.

What We Do!

SCI protects hunter's rights by actively lobbying on behalf of hunters at a state, provincial and federal level. We are committed to passing the hunting tradition on to our youth through educational programs, hunting experiences and wildlife conservation projects. The community of SCI hunters promotes strong family values and teaches young hunter's about hunting and the role hunters play in sustainable wildlife conservation. SCI chapters located around the world offer an excellent opportunity for hunters to get involved and make a difference.

Please consider joining the hunting organization that is First for Hunters and works tirelessly to protect the freedom to hunt. We are a non-profit organization that relies solely on our dedicated volunteers, membership fees, fund raising events and charitable contributions to carry out the battle to protect the freedom to hunt.

Our Mission

To protect and preserve our hunting heritage through wildlife conservation, education, legislative and humanitarian efforts.

SCI TM is committed to...

· Providing value to members by shaping policies and legislation that protect the freedom to hunt locally, nationally and internationally.

· Keeping members informed regarding issues that impact hunting while educating and entertaining members with engaging articles about the rich heritage of hunting in all forms of media.

· Providing a community for hunters worldwide where camaraderie is enjoyed and expert information is exchanged, and where members are able to participate in a market for quality hunting goods and services.

· Promoting a positive image of hunters and portraying them as responsible citizens who fund wildlife conservation, education and other programs, which benefit the community.

Our Programs!

Sportsmen Against HungerTM

SCI TM Members and the SCI Foundation TM place a real priority on sharing nature's bounty. As a result, Sportsmen Against Hunger TM annually provides quality wild game meat to feed over 230 million people in need. Pioneered more than 12 years ago, this ground-breaking program has sparked many statewide hunger-relief efforts involving millions of hunters and anglers.

Recent Sportsmen Against Hunger TM innovations include a popular online hunters' resource noting more than 1,300 licensed game processors participating in the program, and nearly 1,000 nonprofit agencies interested in serving game meat to the hungry.

Illinois Youth programs

As a chapter we have taken it upon ourselves to fund several events to foster the youth of today. We have sponsored local fishing derbies, youth goose hunts, youth duck hunts, and have performed hunters safety courses for the kids. Our youth are our future and it is important that we teach them the importance of the outdoors and conservation. Without them hunting and fishing could disappear as we know it.
