My biggest is a solid 16"

Caught on my first-ever super-duper outing in July, '05.

I just started fishing the Dup last year too. I had a couple that went 18" on the tape.
My buddy, Tom, got a pig last year. We didn't measure her though....

You can bet I will be back this year.

The largest I caught on the duper was last summer and it measured at 19-1/2 inches. Boy do they fight when they get to this point. I have had tremendous results on the duper compared to the Fox.

It's to bad he doesn't stop by here more often. We've exchanged the occasional e-mail or PM and he seems like a good guy.

Couple of 18's. One in the summer and one in the fall. Just like Terry says, they pull!!
There are nice smallies on the Fox though. Look at Brandyn's posts.

Perhaps I should visit here more often Marc. :D

Lately I haven't had much time to devote to anything other than work and family. Hoping that will change soon though.

BTW... that smallie in the photo above was one of my biggest, but not my biggest DuPage smallmouth. My biggest was a 20" 4 to 4.5 pounder. The biggest I've seen caught was an easy 5 pound fish... 21" on the tape. The friend who caught it lost his cell phone on the deal. He was talking on his phone when the fish hit. He set the hook and said to his caller, "Hold on, I've got a fish"... he was fighting the fish with his phone between his shoulder and ear. Then he dropped the phone in the river when the fish jumped and took drag... up stream!

The DuPage is one of my favorite local spots to fish since it is only 200 yards from my backdoor.

About the same from my front door. Just a warning, in dupage county it is illegal to wade. I don't know how hard it is enforced, ( I've been knee deep and they just asked for my liscence), I just don't want anyone to get in trouble. Anyone gone out lately?

I've waded in naperville and had an officer sitting in his car right in-front of me.

It's one of the laws (no-wading) but they really don't care.

Just respect people's waterfront property if you're wading in the area and be cool..

I saw something similar to this on the Illinois Smallmouth Alliance website saying that the boys in Naperville will probably end up lifting the ban (pointless law) on wading.

It makes sense..

i'm pretty sure its not all of dupage county... Naperville though does have the wading law and i've heard of people being ticketed just stay away from the parks and you'll be fine

It's the same like that on some stretches I wade on the Salt Creek in eastern Dupage co.

I've been warned only once, but never ticketed.

Hell, in '05, I wasn't even checked for my license.. Not even once.

But this "no wading" law mainly covers the forest preserve areas.
