Well, it took 1 week to get my FOID card. It could of been because I had one earlier, but still seemed pretty fast. So now I am legal, and ready to by ammo. HA!

They really changed the look of the card I see. Very different than the last one I had.

Thats crazy. Supposedly, the last I heard the ISP is 49,000 FOID applications behind. You're lucky.

All the apps were stacked in a nice neat pile, on the desk, in chronological order.

All the apps fell over onto the floor.

Oh crap, said the intern.

He/she looked around and then quickly shoved them all altogether and placed them into a nice neat pile on the desk.

He/she looked around again. Whew.

He/she then continued with the first app on the top of the pile.

Lucky Mark

Mine have never been more than Thirty days to come.
But that could be because I have a Security Clearance of Top Secret.
The State checked me every Two years.
I don't know how long they last but mine is good to 2021.

I still can't believe that you need a foid card to buy ammo. I understand buying a gun, but ammo? Maybe I'm old fashioned, but it seems like way to much government regulation to me. I just wait and buy all my ammo in Indiana or Michigan when I'm passing thru on principal. Yeah, I know I'm being stubborn....

No big deal. With a firearm purchase one fills out the necessary forms. But with ammo, no info is taken. The sales person just checks your exp., date & that's it. Bill.

The check for my FOID card was cashed on 2/19.

Anybody remember what their turnaround time was after the state cashed their check?

Sending a cashiers check really speeds things up most of the time.

They cash as soon as they can. Fee is nonrefundable, why hold on to it.

Update on FOID process: My girlfriend sent her FOID Application in 4 weeks and 3 days ago today. She received her card in the mail yesterday. Thats pretty dang close the 30days allowed

Exactly 30 days to get approved, nothing like cutting it close to the cutoff. One week later arrived in the mail. They must be getting the process down.
