Fished From the the Mouth to Red Arrow Hwy. Used Hot N Tots / Spinners / Little Cleos . Cast and trolled from about 10 to 3. It was pretty cold & windy out there.
Zero Fish.
Ran into one other guy out there trolling. Same result. Zero Fish.

Fat,
Do you recall the water temps?
I'm starting to wonder if the St. Joe (only 20 minutes from there I'm told, but I've never been) isn't the place to go.

You guys should check out Joe, from I-94 to the lake you can troll all day and not cover all the water. Water level should be up a foot, they finally got a little rain in last storm. Lots of places to launch close to the channels. Call Tackle Haven in Benton Harbor for latest river conditions, fish, etc. The Galien has always been a though river to crack for me, there is little current to work with, and the water is cloudy. I did nail Spring fish at the mouth one year that was a longggg... time ago. my guess to water temp is 38 to 42. Still warm enough to draw strikes. cdx

I am guessing it is about four miles from 94 to the mouth. I haven't trolled much through there just know it is deep enough to run plugs and I'm sure from time to time there's fish moving in or out. Hot n tots, flatfish, wiggle warts, kwikfish, the list goes on and on we all have our favorites. Never got a walleye while looking for steelhead(with plugs), wouldn't say it never happens, but not to me. I'll start looking for Steelies as soon as the ice is out, that could be late Jan or as late as March you never know when the weather breaks. Walleye season closes on March 15 opens again after spawn. Not sure of the date. good luck cdx

The water levels were pretty low. From the mouth to the end of the Harbor I would say the watet levels were 8-12ft. There is a deep hole right under the Whittaker bridge (15 to 20 ft).
The rest of the river to Red Arrow Hwy was 5 to 8ft. We hit a few 2 to 3 ft spots. As you got into the river you could really tell the water was down quite a bit.
