Did some scouting for kings today about six miles from the lake. There just IS NOT a lot of kings in the Joe yet. Hit some pretty reliable spots and didn't see any swirls or jumps (nothing). They just aren't there yet. The river has been soooo low this summer. We did get a couple feet back with this latest rain. More rain and cold coming soon should kick off a major push.

It's day to day on the Joe.

wsj's nephew (Booper9) was out on the Joe, had some fun with those river smallies and some gills. No salmon reported. 8)~

Once we figured out that the kings were just not in,... we did hit an excellent smallie spot. I regreted not having any smallie lures & a smallie rod. I used what I had, a 9-foot rod and some large firetiger cranks. We couldn't scare up any smallies either.

Come to think of it, we kinda stunk pep~
