does anybody have any cheap boat recomendations for the fox..im interested in a boat where i can do catfishing and bass fishing...or does one of you possibly have one for sale??...also does anyone know if you have to have a drivers lisence or insurance to drive a boat?...your help would be much appreciated

insurance is not required but highly recommended, and i do believe you have to have a state drivers lisence, how much are you lookimg to spend

Im just looking for like a jon boat in the price range of maby 500-1200$$...you think it would be wise to have insurance just for a jonny though?

I will prolly mainly be on the fox considering i live like 2 blocks away ( 5 minutes away from the boy scout island launch)...I will definetly have to check out craigs list...how much do you think insurance would be? (roughly)..thanks for your help guys

Exactly where on the Fox do you want to put that boat? That river can have some good current. If your planning on rowing, you better rethink that option, you won't get back up stream rowing unless your in a canoe. If your using a motor you need to make sure that part of the river is deep enough to run a motor. Your supposed to have a state registration tag on almost anything you put in the water,even a row boat or a canoe, better check the regs at the DNR web site. Just another way the state of Illinois can rape us. If you have a "motor boat" you may need a boaters safety class and some gear to make you "Leagal" or you will get raped by the state of Illinois. They have more ways to screw and average man than hines has pickles and it's only going to ger worse as they need a lot of revenue. Its all about job security now, write tickets or take unpaid leave, hmmm, who's going to ger screwed.
