Just set up a small garmin echomap for ice fishing tonight. Bought. A bag & transducer for it, hope to let my kid use it this weekend. Heading north to wisc for eyes on saturday & whitefish on sunday. Wish I had time Friday to try it out. Anyone else use their open water electronics for ice fishing? I use my flasher in the kayak & when I go to Canada, shoots right through the hull.

I used the garmin for a few days, not sure if I like it or not for ice fishing. With all the rain, my season may have ended. I like the unit on my small boat for open water, I will give it a shot on the ice again.
