What are you looking to catch and how do you like to fish?

Looking for bass or walley.
I will be using a Bass boat.
I have a lot of artificial bait or I can get live bait.
Going to be there for a week so I will be fishing almost every day.

I don't fish this pool much so I don't know the spots but in general I would look for creek mouths, gravel bars, points, bridges, anywhere there is current and hard bottom seems to work best for me. Beavers and senkos are good if you are pitching, paddle tails on jigs. Rattletraps, Blade Baits, Spinner Baits are good for throwing cranks, anything that puts out a vibration.

Upstream from Ottawa is the dam and there are some nice spots that way, downstream you have some islands and as you get near to starve rock its very wide shallow flats. Fox river also dumps in and it can hold some good fish.

I would say if you are driving by and you like the way a spot looks then fish it, if you don't get any fish within 15 minutes either change baits or move. If you get a fish on a lure that lure will probably work elsewhere in the river. Pay attention to where and how you caught them and if you see baitfish jumping there is a fish around somewhere to be caught. Good luck hope this helps but feel free to PM if you need more help.
