Last week I reported that I got a bad virus and was looking for a registry cleaner. Well here is my update.

Sometimes a problem in your life can bring happiness. I must let ALL members know that we have a Diamond in our midst. A Gentleman that has more computer savy than anyone I have ever known. A gentleman that has restored my faith in mankind. Do you have a favorite car mechanic, a favorite plumber or a favorite Charter Captain on Lake Michigan. Well I just added a friend and a favorite computer technician to my list. It is widely known that most computer techs would rather delete you OS and reinstall to repair most of the problems, it's the easy way out, not my new guy. The root of the problem is searched out and destroyed and repaired. Problems I did not know I had were even repaired.

I could go on and on about this gentleman and fisherman but I think you get my point.

Some of us don't like to give out certain secrets but I want to let our community(chi-town anglerers) know about this guy.

His id on the site is dylanapollo(aka Dennis). If I had a business I would hire this man to be the IT guy in a heartbeat. With 30yrs + computer expierence and a personality that I wish I had some of.

I can't thank you enough Dennis.

Thank You

Aww shucks guy's t'werent nuttin'.

Thanks for the kind words.

I'm glad we could get Fran up and moving again.

I would warn anyone using CCleaner to heed the following. CCleaner is an excellent program for cleaning up crap on your computer. The first C actually stands for Crap; however, if you go messing around with the registry cleaner be sure you know what it is you're deleting. The Registry is basically how the Operating system works. It's kind of like the blueprint of the system. If you go deleting parts of it without the knowledge of both Software(app/system) and Hardware. You can REALLY hose your system to the point of no return real quick. So beware of what you do with the registry and MAKE BACKUPS!!!

Fran was prepared in case we had to reinstall the system but not everyone is. Remember your system can be fixed/replaced. But if you lose the pictures of that HOG you landed last year it's Gone!

Thanks again guys. :respect
