Don't mind logging in every time, you get used to it. More curious as to why it's happening all of a sudden.

Hmmm??? crack? Just kidding couldn't help myself. I don't think it's anything to do with the site. But I could be wrong. Sounds like something is either hokey with Firefox (I did see where some older versions have an issue with "special" characters in passwords but...), Something with the AV software you use not allowing these to be saved, or any number of other things. What's wierd is that it works from the "same" location sometimes and then sometimes not? If you're using Firefox go into the tools | Options the two most likely areas to look are the security and the privacy settings. Privacy will have the clear history setting and cookie settings. The Security should have the password settings. Check the exceptions and saved passwords buttons and see if anything looks hokey. If it really starts bothering you PM me and I can help ya take a look.

It could be a number of things going on. Maybe Marc has an option. Maybe cookies expiring on your system at strange times? It'd be real hard to diagnose for both the work and home systems. I would think that you could set firefox (IE too) up to "remember" the password for you I guess. Like I said if it get's to be a real bother PM me and I can login and take a look at your system. I won't do the one at work but I'd be happy to take a look at the one at home. Legal matters.

I do have Firefox set to remember my passwords and because of that. I only have to click the submit button (also click the remember me block to just in case) It's not that big of a bother though.

I think it may be the board cookies but I'm concerned that if I change them everyone will have issues and have to start the old cookie dump run around. It works for me all the toime so I'm just leaning that way a little

I was thinking Chas E. as well, except mine has been doing this since the upgrade, but if he'll take the blame, then why not?

Same as always, sometime I have to login, sometimes it remembers me. Several times today as well as last night.

Ahhh Ha - I Got it! I discovered the issue earlier today after it had been driving me crazy for 24 hours after installing a new web browser. This is the first time I experienced the problem and I was determined to figure it out. If you access the site using the domain name www.chitownangler.com without the hyphen you will have to login every time you start a new browsing session. However, if you access www.chitown-angler.com with the hyphen the automatic login functionality works because the cookies for the site that are used for remembering credentials for the automatic login are set specifically for www.chitown-angler.com. Of course this also means that you can't be paranoid and delete your cookies if you want to use the automatic login feature. I can recreate the issue in the latest versions of Firefox, IE, and Chrome, which told me it's specific to the website and not the users web browsers. The problem is not really a problem from a technical perspective. The site just has to be accessed by the correct domain. I don't know what version of PHPBB this site is running, but the only documentation available on http://www.phpbb.com is for version 3.0 here http://www.phpbb.com/support/documentation/3.0/. In the section 3.2.3.1. Cookie Settings, I'll guarantee the "Cookie Domain" setting is set as ".chitown-angler.com". What this means is the site must be accessed using either http://www.chitown-angler.com or http://chitown-angler.com for all site funcionality that relies on cookies to work properly. Here are 2 solutions that can be put in place by the webmaster to automatically redirect users to www.chitown-angler.com and help the unfortunate soles who access the site by using www.chitownangler.com in the future: 1) Apache http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mod/mod_alias.html#redirect2) Current Registrar (Register.com) $49/yr http://www.register.com/website-forwarding.rcmxor change the registrar to GoDaddy.com for the free service and get an extra year of registration for free http://help.godaddy.com/article/422

It just took a little aging to forget who I am.
