I hiked through one of my favorite spots today. No shrooms yet, but the wild flowers were further around than I had anticipated. Spring beauties open all over, about 50/50 on red trillium and even a few white trilliums in bloom. Im guessing the blacks pop in the next week or so.

I just got back from turkey hunting in Pope Co. They are popping down there and we found a bunch. I'm guessing another week or two up here.

Do you think they will still be popping up here with this cold weather, or do you think we have to wait for another warm up?

Thanks for your reports guys. This may sound odd, but knowing that the good morel hunters on proven grounds are having zero luck actually encourages me. When everyone else is finding them, and I'm out ''farting smokerings'' (that means zeroes), then I'll go back to ultralights and prespawn bluegills. KEEP THE NEWS COMING !

I'm guessing we're gonna have to wait for a warm up. I just checked the dates on my camera and I didn't start finding any last year until mid May.

Did some work down on the farm this past weekend in Pike county and they were just starting to pop in earnest.

Went out yesterday, very few found. It looks like the undergrowth is starting to get thicker and it's going to be alot harder to find them.
