Anyone know any good places to catch drum. I caught them in Lake Erie and they fought really hard.

You may want to try for some carp right now. Not sure if they are pre spawn or what, but they are real aggressive on the Lake front right now. The boys caught some in the 10 to 20 pound range while bass fishing last week. One hit a jointed Rapala. :crazy

Well, if you didn't mind driving out to Lake Erie, I would strongly recommend Pentwater Lake in Michigan. Great overall lake for crappie, smallmouth, pike and has some really large and aggressive sheephead.

Try St Joe MI...I went 3 /3 drum and one small mouth bass on the North pier casting a cheap Bass Pro crank bait Green in color on the river side.

I wasnt fishing for drum but for small-mouth bass...tell you the truth, those drum fight just as much as the smalles do!!!

Throw that bait out as hard as you can and crank as fast as you can....They hit hard and fast!

I got a couple monsters, around 10 pounders :respect but threw them back into the river...

:thanks :thanks

I just called park bait and the lady said drum have been being cought for a few weeks now and is starting to heat up. I am always skeptical when someone who works at a bait shop tells me fish are being cought. She said softshells are 6.99 for a half dozen. Wow that's expensive!

Caught more drum on tube jigs fishing for smallies than I can count. You don't need soft shells, too expensive and they will hit minnows, regular small size pond crabs and artificial baits in dark goby colors.
