I recently retired and looking to fill some time. I have a very flexible schedule and have always been interested in working on a charter as a "first mate." I'm pretty experienced overall and would be interested in something out of the south end of the lake. If anyone knows of a charter that might need someone, please PM me if you'd be so kind. I'm not looking to just "make money." I have a sound work ethic, get along with people, communicate well and am willing to learn the ropes so to speak. Thought I'd give this a shot here! Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

I also realize that this is not as simple as it seems! But you have to start somewhere. Thanks!

I would suggest calling some ofthe charter boat Captains at the harbor you are looking to work out of. Once you speak to a few, they would be in the know of who is looking to fill mate spot. I would suggest giving Buba a call at the Waukegan Harbor House too. He would have a handle on who needs help up there.
