Sad to report that a fellow fisherman and Kankakee River Veteran as succumb to his illness. Creekyknees is now wetting lines in heaven with fellow fishermen/women. I will miss reading about his ventures to the beautiful Kankakee River. His real name is Norm Minas. Please say a prayer for Him and his Family at this sad time. Gods speed my Friend!! You will be missed by many.

Tight Lines,

John Sommer

My God, I thought he was winning his battle. Norm will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him.

My prayers go out to his family and friends.

RIP Norm. You will be missed. You were a good friend to many and a wealth of knowledge when it came to fishing the Kankakee. You can now fish God's river everyday catching big smallies and walleye while there is a train whistle in the background.

It was one of his posts several years ago that prompted me to take a 5 mile canoe trip down the Kankakee river for walleye. Caught two nice walleyes back to back casts. That day is in my top ten fishing memories of all time. Had a nice walleye shore lunch with a buddy on an island, would have thought I was in the Boundary Waters. The inspiring posts from him and others like him make this site great. :drink cheers.

My sincere condolences to the family of creekyknees. He was one of the nicest fishermen I have ever met, he was always happy to pass fishing tips to us fisherman. This is a real shock as I thought I read here i was winning the battle.

His passion for the Kankakee and its creeks and backwaters will live on in the knowledge that he has shared. When spring comes and the flow is just right I hope to put that knowledge to work. God bless his family and give them strength. "Taint no feesh here"!

Always looked forward to his reports. Much respect to a seasoned k3 river rat. I'm sorry for the loss. He seemed like a great person person.
