I finally have some free time and looking to wet the legs and some lures. What the hell is happening on the K3 fellas? No reports - what gives?
The water has to be looking really nice by now, no???

The river has only had a week or two where it was safe to wade since winter. That would be my guess as to why there is a lack of reports. It is looking great now at 2200 CFS. I hope to get out this weekend.

I know it's been at or near flood all season, but it seems like it should be calming down now.
You say it's at 2200 - what's safe for wading for a decent sized guy with experience?

Got out there early Saturday morning and took me awhile to find the bite and found two smallies on cranks. Had to change locations and started fishing again. pounded good water for the next 3 hours and managed 1 more smallie. That's it. For me the bite sucked. With in a few hundred yard area there were another half dozen waders. Weekends are a zoo down there and I'm sure it's impacted the bite on all the favorite spots with in the state park. Hopefully things pick up as the temps drop and the part timers hang it up for the season.

Got a couple smallies (small) Friday evening and got skunked Sunday late morning. It has been tough lately. Not sure what is going on. Will try later this week.

I don't wade but when I kayaked back water areas most days once I launched I never seen another soul until I got back to the launch site. I haven't been out much this year since losing the kayak and all the gear and now I'm getting ready for bow season to start.

the key to multi species catches lately has been fishing big lures. 1/2 jig/ 6 inch swimbait, 7 inch magnum flukes , 1/2 oz rattlebaits, big cranks in stretches where algae is not a problem . one knock spooks have been best topwater .
use lures that let you cover water very effectively and cover a lot of water . fish are scattered, with lower water they can go wherever they want and do in search of food .
forget looking for deep holes, active feeding fish 4 ft and shallower .
