Going to get out to my usual ponds tomorrow early and was wondering what everyone likes to use this time of year. Did well last time on a purple worm with a white tail, weightless. Also with a little weight on it. Wacky rigged senkos are also a favorite. Nothing beats the live bluegills on the bobber.

What do you typically use?

Texas rig with anything green and FROGS! I'm a sucker for a topwater bite. Whopper Ploppers are fun and I've been playing with a Ned rig with good results.

Been throwing Bluegill swimbaits as of late.... Kinda like you're doing with the float... Just zero chance of a swallowed hook and no hassle of live bait...

I'm planning to throw a swimbait tomorrow. Catching the bait is fun. Especially when you get one like a did a few posts back.

Caught 20 bass today in about 3 hours. Also got a 11.3 lb channel cat. I have been putting good use to my new digital scale. 6 bass on a purple worm. Rest on bluegills.

Rattlin Rogue was always by best lure for pond fishing. Caught some giants on corporate ponds using that back in the day.

After a long forced absence from fishing, I have finally managed to start getting out on the local ponds and lakes. I have been doing fairly well, not spectacular, just enough to entertain me for a few hours. Sure is nice to be out in the sun after a lengthy recovery from multiple health issues.

I have a Senko tied on year round...if I could only use one lure for the rest of my life, it would be a senko

Yeah 5" Senko rigged in some weedless fashion is pretty reliable. Another reliable one for me is a Texas-rigged 7" purple Powerworm. Depending on weeds I'll also mix in a topwater option and spinnerbait.
