Went 4 for 9 in about 2 hours throwing a Pad Crasher frog on top of weed mats. I used my flipping stick with 40 lb Power-Pro to coax them out of their lair and I STILL lost more than I caught. When the sun is bright the fish will tuck up under these mats and wait in ambush. The water I'm fishing is fairly small but has a HUGE number of bull frogs so the bass grow big. Called it quits when the heat took its toll.
Summer is here, baby and the bass are feasting!

Wow nice job on those fish. Ever think of a frog leg dinner?

Thanks guys. I almost considered that WSJ as at one point a bigger frog chased after my Pad Crasher replica bait when I was skittering it on top of the milfoil mats. I think he had something other than food on his mind! At any rate my frog bait fooled his as well!

Not sure Tinmare.
4-5lbs I'm guessing. The spawn is over in this pond and that gut represents a large meal prior to my catch. She was hungry! What was cool was she busted through the weed mat and clobbered my frog bait like someone dropped a bowling ball in the water. The trick to fishing these frog baits is you have to really let them eat it before you set the hook. If you swing BEFORE you feel the fish you will pull it out of their mouth and miss them every time. Took me a few swings to get my timing right.
