fished the south west corner of the 38 bridge in geneva. had out live bluegill, stink bait (blood n shrimp) , worms and liver. had a few hits on the stink bait and worms. didn't connect on anything. fished from 5:30pm to sun down. little moths were thick as clouds. tried to eat a pizza for dinner, I think I ate more of those little buggers than I did pizza.
good luck

I was out early this morn with cutbait, got a couple of bell jingles early but no hookups. I did catch one quillback on a big rattling crank, but strangely quiet for the spot. No jumping carp, water definitely colder than just a week ago. I was out for almost 4 hrs from 1am-5am, and it is rare for me to get so little action at the dam. During the day, the east side is often a little better but as it's part of the park trail; it's officially closed overnight. The west side is completely ignored by the cops when night fishing, in my experience. Up a little from the dam are several open spots to set up at, and they do produce nice cats.

Fished the Fox in Batavia from 3:30PM to 4:30PM Labor Day with the boy. We moved pretty quick, casting some current break spots. Started on the west side by the Batavia water treatment plant and worked our way across the bridges, across the islands, over to the skate park side and back. Between the two of us, we caught 5, 12" smallies swimming a jig and twister tail. There were a couple guys fishing for cats there, not getting anything either. I've seen some good cats caught in Geneva, but down river from 38, closer to Fabyan.

BTW... our skunk came two days before out at Shabbona. Pretty humbling when ya can't get bit out there even with live bait.

Nice running into you bearsfan, you guys fished like you were on a mission. My apologies for my adventurous verbal daughter, she likes to stop and smell the flowers, and expects EVERY one else around her to do the same.
