Last year i lost a musky early in the season. I am dying to catch one this year out of the fox. The batavia area is close to my stomping ground but I dont mind traveling a little distance to catch one. Anyone with advise would be very helpful. Ive heard of different places like yorkville, the fearson creek mouth in St Charles, and anywhere in batavia. Just looking to land one, any size will do haha.

Caught 2 below Yorkville dam late last Fall-November. Both were 36"ish. Caught both on x-raps, perch color, small size- #6 I think.

From what I hear south is better. Mostly Montgomery and Yorkville. I asked fisheries biologists from the IDNR if they reproduce in the river and they told me they don't. So pretty much anything you see in the river is washed down from any area that they are stocked.

Fish the areas around boy scout island. Excellent northerns and musky areas.

48?"...ha, right!! ;)

Very tough deal fishing the Fox for Muskies, there aren't many spots to go and the spots that are out there are anything but secrets. I personally have never landed one but I have caught some pretty solid pike around 35" fishing for Muskies several times in the South Elgin area
