Hi everyone, have not been posting for a while, but I thought I would let you in on this weekend Fox River Fishing. Was out Friday around Batavia Dam. Netted three 17+ inch walleyes. Went three for 10. Darn things kept spitting the hook just out of nets reach. Sunday back to same area. 6 walleyes netted 4 under 14". one 17 and one 18. All fish were taken on flatheads bounced off bottom with light sinker. Also all fish were taken during the daytime. Best bite was Friday 1:00 pm full sun. I always thought the walleye was a low light feeder?? All fish were males. the big females should start biting once the water cools a little more. good fishing.

They are low light feeders, but in rivers that are mostly shallow, they've got pretty much nowhere deep to go to avoid the sunlight. If an opportunity shows up, they will hit!

Makes me want to head to Batavia soon!

fishrman,

Hey how is it going. We never got out to ice fish last season. Do you hibernate during the summer. :)

That's a good report, heard similar stories around that area ..
