Sorry for such a late report, I have been running about this week.
I started wading the river about 4:30pm and worked all the normal eddies and current breaks with one Quillback to show for my efforts. Well at least until the sun went down and the dark started to settle in. The fish turned on and I ended up missing and loosing several with only one chunker brought to hand. I was fishing live fatheads on a #6 octopus hook with a few split shot in front.
I called it when I couldn't see the hook anymore to rebait.
Here is a quick shot of the one fish brought to hand.
