I tried the dam for a while today thinking the walleyes would turn on before hte big storm. Nothing!!! The snow started at about 4:15 and I was fishing before it started. I tried a deadstick rod with a lindy rig and a X-tra large fathead minnow from Llobri's. I tried everything else including huskyjerks, jig/twister, jig and minnow, everything. not even a hit. We really need a melt or some rain to bring the river up for the walleyes.

The east side in Montgomery is open about halfway across. The west side is till frozen over. Yorkville the main river is open but downstream and on the west side is not open, still iced up. It won't be long and the walleyes will start hitting good.
