The water temperature was up to 55º! The river is still flowing at the dangerous rate of 5,710 cubic feet per second in Montgomery. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/il/nwis/uv?05551540

The river is warming up and that means one thing: Active Fish! Numerous smallie reports have been coming in all week, as well as walleye! Most anglers are getting the extra large fathead minnows and coming back for more! If you want to target walleye, we have had mixed reports on their current hiding spots. Reports locate them anywhere from the pools to right in the middle of the fast current. So, if you’re not catching anything, move! (Good advice for anytime of the year!)

Good Luck out there! 8)
