The water temperature was 35º this morning. The river current is still high at 3,920 cubic feet per second. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/il/nwis/uv?05551540

We had quite a few reports of decent walleyes being caught near the Batavia dam and the Montgomery dam. Most fish were caught using large fathead minnows on a jig head.

We will be closed on Sunday due to the holiday. We hope everyone has a very Happy Easter! :D

You can park in the Batavia City Hall overflow lot behind the City Hall. The City Hall is on the corner of Island Ave and Houston St, 1 Block north of Wilson St. Roosevelt Rd (RT 38 ) goes through Geneva, we are the next town south on RT 31.

Hey All, Stop in and see Karen and Jason at Batavia Bait and Tackle. All that construction has not been good for them and is is PRICELESS to have a bait shop on the river with real info and baits that work on the Fox. I have been getting some decent walleye on the west shore down in St.Charles as well as the Batavia Dam. I believe most of the fish will move up quickly to the dams with all the erratic weather we have been having.Caught a few smallmouth bass already this SPRING? so it has been a bit of fish and find out... BUT ...if you don't go you don't know!!!

No I don't believe they are open on Mondays. They are still on winter hours, I believe but will be on Spring Summer hours soon. I have known these guys way before I moved out to Batavia, and my hat is off to them. NO-ONE who has never owned or ran a Bait shop can believe the hours they put in and believe me they aren't getting RICH doing it. They just enjoy and I believe are very special people that love the FOX River and that age old concept....of personal quality service!!!
