Early spring is a great time to fish the Ditch. South and southeast winds will keep the lake calm for you, as you will be fishing close to the shoreline. Hit the discharges in the Ditch itself on your way out. Anywhere you see a tube with water coming out of it, give it a shot. White Mr. Twister tipped with a piece of squid will get you browns, steelies and coho. Don't be surprised to catch a smallie or two. Head west to the Gary light, or closer east, hit Bailey's discharge on the beach, and fish the warmer water. Usually right on the clear water and mud line will be your best action.
