Hey boys & girls, heard about this on a local South Bend radio station this morning when they interviewed Bob Bell. Salmon & trout in the St. Joe will be a major topic (sounded very intersting). I plan on being there. There will be Q&A time too. I contacted them for their press release - here it is...

Center for History Offers Program on the History of Fish Hatchery

South Bend, IN - A presentation on the history of the Bodine State Fish Hatchery will take place at Insights in History at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, at the Northern Indiana Center for History. Admission is $3 and reservations are requested.

Bob Bell, Assistant Property Manager of the Bodine State Fish Hatchery, will talk about the fish hatchery for Lake Michigan and the St. Joseph River, the role that trout and salmon play in this fishery, and fish ladders as they relate to the hatchery. Bob, an avid fisherman, will also talk about his favorite fishing spots along the river.

In addition, a guided tour of "Using the Land," an exhibit about the 1890s project to drain the Kankaee Swamp, will take place.
