Caught this odd 30"ish Pike from "Andrew River" this evening. As far as I know, it's somewhere in IL.

First thought I had a stick hooked with the 1/4oz rat-l-trap but once I just set the hook to make sure it wasn't a stick, it turned out to be a fish that flew away like a rocket. This fish was fast as feck!

Not my biggest Esox from Andrew River (about 6-8" and 5lbs off the mark), but since the river is a trib of a larger, well-known river, there's more where these guys came from. I'm thinking of just using the smaller musky caster here come mid-fall. At that time, Bass from anywhere really don't apply to me anymore.

Kevin, if you see this, I may be able to join you out on the DuPage on Sunday morning (looks like a 50/50 chance) if it doesn't rain and if you do go out there. If I don't go for whatever reason, it's probably because of other stuff as well as wanting to fish Andrew River. I'm also out "for-sure" for tomorrow. :(

Back at it again late tomorrow with my one long-time friend who's been soiling over himself for the past year or so due to my fish catching antics. Gotta love it!

Start fishing people. The water temps are falling week by week now. By next month, it'll be day-by-day and the following month, we'll start seeing ice.... yucky....

Nice fish there Andrew, way to go. My biggest from those waters is right about the same size but it was last year or the year before.

I'm busy in the am tomorrow. It looks like a Noreaster is blowing in anyway. I'm a no go for tomorrow.

:( Maybe next time...

Hey, I know that spot; although, I used to call it River X

I've changed the background on a few photos too. We gotta get you using PaintShop Pro and you could have a lot of fun changing pics

BTW: Nice pike Andrew.
