On the river. Have been hunting the west branch with my 3 wt TFO (God, I love this rod). A black Boogle Bug popper has been killing the smallies with a few big ones (16+ lengths) landed. I even watched a big carp chase down my popper as it floated in the current and suck it in. Then the fight (unequal) was on for about 4 minutes when the carp just said "the hell with this" and gave a quick lunge going with the current and snapping a 3X tippet. So far, 2 Saturdays on the river and 2 enjoyable days. It was topped off with a herd of deer walking the river eating the succulent grass anchored to the bed.
The 7-1/2 foot, 2 piece rod is light and sensitive for the panfish yet 2-3 times gave the strength to take on a Duper carp.
Now, I must find out, again, how to post my photos of the smallmouth caught.

Knee-wise, the new knee is about as good as the one God gave me. If I had to do it over, I would opt for cortisone shots until I couldn't take one.

Glad the replacement knee is working well, the recovery is long...........my Mom had both knees done and lasted her over 30 years and escorted her into heaven.

Looking forward to your expanded reports now that your back in action.

bill77 if your in constant pain and it stops you from doing everyday chores or worst yet stops you from fishing, DO IT. Had both my knees done and the only regret I have is I waited too long to have it done. Sure theirs Therapy and some moans and groans but in the long run you'll be ahead of the game and back in the swing of things. First knee 10 years ago and second knee 4 years old.

Tom, thanks for the pm to help uploading. For some reason, my photos will not upload. I get a 0 uploads successful. the size of a photo is 3.7 mb whch is within the 8,000 kb size. So, I don't know why.
Bill 77. I will see the surgeon on Sep 4 and ask him why my surgical knee basically is as good as the OEM right knee. After wading the duper or standing for a length of time, It becomes very stiff and I often have pain under the knee cap. Aside from any discussions from the doctor, I compare one knee vs the other. Being 72, I was looking at not prolonging the surgery since being under general anesthesia has its own risks when getting old. I also volunteer at the arboretum and must walk in the forest where the vines grab hold of the feet thus pulling at the leg (knee feels it) and having to lift the leg over fallen trees. In this terrain, the surgical knee and OEM knee feel the same...stiff, very stiff. So, with the doctor's appointment, I will ask for a cortisone shot in the right knee. BTW, being 165 pounds and working out at the local gym, 2X per week, I have always been in above average shape...no couch potato.
