Wondering if anyone can share some info on the Dupage River superfund cleanup that happened a few years ago. I understand that there was a several mile long stretch of the river that the Army Corps of Engineers restored, removed sediment, replanted banks, etc...
Where does this stretch of river begin and end, and most importantly, did the fishing improve with the habitat restoration?

Thanks!

Ummm is that the one that occurred in the Warrenville stretch with the thorium cleanup or something? I don't fish that far north but I believe it took place upstream of the dam at McDowell Grove.

jmdog, that's scary stuff! I live nearby that area (for few years now) and haven't heard about it until now....
I hope I don't bump into a three-eye double tailed fish one of these days. :scared

jmdog, I think that is it.
I was told by one of the guys at Orvis in Yorktown that the project had improved the habitat along that stretch of river because they rebuilt the banks and replanted a lot of native plants.
I thought that I had read that the project was to include the removal of the dam in McDowell grove. Is it still there?

Jay, don't worry about those double-tailed fish, they just fight harder! ; )
