I've got a few hours free this weekend... hoping to make the most of it.

Thanks!

Either one will produce fish. Water is low and clear so find the holes. West branch is rockier and the east branch is deeper on average. Don't overlook the main stem as it has been pretty hot recently.

I just hit the west branch in McDowell Grove, this afternoon, with my ultralight and white plastic grubs. Not one bite and the water is sooo low. I met two younger fellows who were wading but had the same success I had---nada. In this context and knowing that the west branch is more shallow as one fishes 75th street and south, in Naperville, I would recommend the east branch. As jmdog stated, the east branch shoule be deeper.

Went out on the West Branch Monday, fish were very active at Winfield Mounds and near Gary's Mill. Couple nice fish, hope to get back out after this cold departs... hopefully
