The river has officially caught fire. Largemouth bass are everywhere and feeding heavily. Got a few smallmouth mixed in. The fish are not shying away from current and in fact the largest fish were in the main channel. Saw a lot of surface activity. One of the smaller fish I got had a tail sticking out of its gullet and a huge lump in the belly. Looked like it swallowed something 3/4 of its own size. Totaled 21 fish in about an hour this afternoon.

The river's hot and you're hotter! The fish I saw feeding were in the main part of the river away from the fast flow so it must have been deeper. They were not after small insects floating but after something juicier for storng for the winter. I also saw many a frog jumping into the water as I walked the bank (too bad for them).

Damn! The photo makes it look like the fish swallowed a soda can! The creek chubs may be taking a population beating.
