Best Buy is supposed to be able to show you a powered antenna matching your brand of TV.
It should pick up local HD broadcasts.

I have been cable free over 1.5 years, I use this over the air antennae:
https://www.amazon.com/RCA-Compact-Outd ... tv+antenna
I get over 65 channels. i also use a Kodi box with Real Debrid and a paid IPTV subscription. Total cost 15 bucks a month for all movies, tv shows, 325+ live tv channels and all pay per view.
Definitely the way to go, if you wanna skip the IPTV , Real Debrid is only 18 bucks for six months and that gives you buffer free( HD ) private servers for Kodi.
Feel free to pm for any info.

Still use my old antenna, pointed towards downtown Chicago and get 58 channels when I scan. I'm just happy for channel skip.
Good luck

A few years ago, while at Menards, they had some antenna thing in a box, cost 1.99. I bought one, and have yet to use it. But, I have heard they work well.

I've got the same one Itrain linked. The display resolution is actually better than the basic WOW cable I had.

Just what I was hoping for. I ordered the RCA Yagi, plan on mounting it where the dish resides now. This is all new to me (old guy) so I've been researching. I think my next move will be a Kodi box. Is there a certain one that you would recommend ? thanks again

Hey Glen, when you get that Yagi goto antenna direct website :https://www.antennasdirect.com/transmitter-locator.html type in your zip and it will give you degrees to aim antenna at( downtown Chicago) then get a phone app that shows compass in degrees. Go onto your roof, sit right behind old dish mast and line up compass on your phone app. This will give you perfect line to point the antenna. Nailed it first time, very easy. When it comes to Kodi boxes there's a bunch some work much better than others. PM me and i will give you the low down. If going with Kodi you must have very good internet, be able to run cat 6 wire to your router or extender to Kodi box, and should be using real debrid. This is for optimal results but doing anything less will leave you frustrated. Once again PM me and I will give you a bunch of info.
