I bought a combo kit and used the drill with my Clam Plate, works great. My question is, has
anyone ever tried a cordless impact wrench in place of the drill? My drill has 531 inch pounds of torque.
My impact has 885, 1590 and 2600 inch pounds. Is an impact wrench not designed for something
like ice augering? I got it to replace my lug wrench anyway (old age). Using it on the ice was an afterthought.

If you want to screw up your blades go right ahead.

I would NOT use an impact drill for an ice auger-they are designed to bang a bolt loose when met with resistance. This banging can damage your blades.Stay with your driver drill and keep your auger blades sticky sharp-

I’ve used one to sink anchors in for my shack but it takes much longer
than using a drill. With the extra time it would take and possibly messed
up blades, I’d stick with the drill for holes.
