Gentleman (and ladies), been lurking on this site for awhile, glad to have finally joined. Made it out to Cal Park for some Perchin action looking to enjoy one of the last nice days of the year. Got to the launch around 1:15 and was greeted by a friendly CPO checking boats coming in. Passed the inspection and made it out to see over 30+ boats from the mounth out to about half way to the gap. Decided to go against the crowd and headed up the river a little. Marked some good schools and worked a few for a couple hours only putting a few in the box, lots of 6-8”ers. Pulled out just past the mouth and started plucked out some 9-10’s. Kept about 14 total, 10.5” being the biggest. Minnows/roaches off the bottom. Lots of fish out there, had to stay vertical on top of the schools, they wanted it barely moving. Anyway, hoping for a couple more days out here before things get too cold. Good luck!

Yes, Beachcomber and welcome aboard, we left Cal Park around 11:30. The CPO was a indeed a pleasant sort of guy. I am always more than happy to be asked for a licence and to see that limits are being verified. The first perch we caught was a jumbo and we threw back a bunch early before we figured out that jumbos would be an exception for the day. It was also great to not see a flock of sea gulls as everything released swam away strong. We ended w one at 13.25 and one at 14 keeping a less than a one man limit of mostly 9-10's for the three of us. What a great day for what now looks to be the last trip before the boat goes into my buddy's barn.
