ITS OFFICIAL SUMMER IS ENDING--Saw a flock of maybe 100 SANDHILL Cranes fly over, as they made 3 very wide circles they were joined by another flock of maybe 50 plus birds then headed southeast. What a pleasure it is to see these birds in flight. jax

Boat is done for the year now, so let's have an early ice season. Those in favor say "ICE".

:shock Say it isn't so... I love ice fishing... But this fall bite is too good to pass up... We may have two more possibly three weekends to fish from the boat... I usually start on New Year's Day (ice fishing)... We'll see how drastic this weather changes.. Last year was a very short season and we hit the road for better ice... Hope local ice this season is more favorable .... Until then it's crappie time!!!! :bday:

Been seeing them for past 3 days over Darien. Usually from 2-3:30 pm. Yesterday they very high, and searching for the thermals. Very cool to have the 5 month old Lab puppy hear them, then locate the flock, and track them for a good 5 min. I couldhear them, but they were so high it was difficult to track them against the cloudless sky.

WAY too early for the boat to be done for the year, lol. I've been out on mine the past 5 weekends straight. Can't pass up this beautiful weather this deep into November, a great fall bite on pretty much most lakes I've been on, and being on the water in a sweatshirt and jeans the week before Thanksgiving!

Sandhills have been flying in force yesterday & today in massive flocks. You think they know whats coming? Yesterday I had some flying so low I thought they were going to stop in for a cup of coffee.
