Last I checked I asked general questions and pointers not specifics. But thank you for input.

We went on friday . My first time with a total of 4 of us all first timers. We did not have a dog. The open fields cut low had pheasants but without a dog it was tough. Most of them would just run away. We had luck in fields 9 and 10 . There was a mix of woods and thick grass and walking and kicking cover was not to bad. We managed to stumble upon 3 pheasants no kills though but action. Very tough to hit a bird that just flushed in your face. Haha. Also saw a bobcat while out. This was a intro to hunting for me and my friends and we all had a great time even without any birds to come home with. Lots of great guys out there where more than willing to help out us newbies. Can't wait to try a hunt with a dog. They are just awesome to watch at work. Good luck to you!

From what I understand they release 1.5 birds per hunter.

Pay for two but only 1.5 get released. That's why this program is on its way out. JMHO

Next time, try targeting windrows or brush/tree lines/drainage cuts crossing the fields. Post up two or three of your guys at the end of the row and one or two of you guys push the birds to the posters. Normally, they will run right to the post up guys giving them a shot. Some will flush giving the drivers a shot. Miles and miles of walking but well worth it.

Went hunting today and I did not see any pheasants or have a shot at any. Anyone who had a dog had a bird or two but I had no luck.

The price has gone to 30 dollars and they release 1.5 birds per hunter. with out a dog its a very difficult place to hunt. Also remember, thats 1.5 birds per reserved hunter. so if ,say 50 of 150 hunters are reserved their are not those birds from what it is said. so 100 times 30 = 3000 for no birds put out.

I hunt at a club without a dog all of the time. I do a clean up hunt which means the birds are released but they were not put out there for me. I usually do pretty good but I mainly stick to the tree rows and small ditches. There are plenty of birds even on public land you just need to put some time in and do a lot of walking.

The Public/Private Partnership Hunts managed by T. Miller are another option. You pay for the number of birds you want planted. Minimum of two for $33, three for $44 or four for $55. Those prices are better than any private clubs bird prices.
