Somethings up. Saw tons of Sandhills migrating today. Taking the kids to one of my goose fields in the morning. picked up 3 more geese in this field the other morning. Everything slid us except these 3, they locked up and came straight in. Saw lots of geese but they wanted into another cornfield down the road. Would hunt Lake Marie blind but boat is stuck in mud. If you can get out, get out, there has to be some new birds in the area.

East wind works well in this particular field, but birds were definently more interested in corn. Saw 100s of birds heading to no partcular place. Finally a single locks up and come straight in. daughter got one clean shot at it but missed. Birds in the decoys walking around and eating. My son walks over to where we were. Bird still out there. he stalks out to within 15yds finally the bird flushes. it's the only one we brought home. Crazy.

All in all a fun day, great breakfast with the kids, single goose, Daughter got her first shot. i think, givin the birds were riding the wind they would give us a good look but were reluctant to turn around.

Was out this morning, a good hour of mallards moving right at shooting time. Knocked down 3 then moved to the field as the honkers started moving about 8am. Knocked 2 down and got out.

Got great reports out of the Peru area, 18 this morning. 15 were mallards. Seems like they might be comin' down. DU's migration tracker is showing lots of increased action along the Mississippi.... get out while you can!!
