im looking at getting a pair of waders for waterfowl hunting and fishing in early spring and late fall. i was just wondering if i should get 600 or 1000 gram? i figure if i get the 1000 gram i can always just wear a pair of shorts under it in spring to prevent getting to hot.

I will wade throughout the winter and in some cases the edge of the river will be iced. I have 1000 gram boots and don't think I would want any less insulation. Drakebuster also brought up 3.5 mm vs 5 mm neoprene. If you plan on mainly using them during colder weather do yourself a favor and go with the 5. Much warmer.
