Well got back sunday 15 oct. Boy what a Trip, very dry up in canada this year, lots of potholes being mowed and burned for planting next year. I would estimate that about 75% of the medium to small potholes are gone. It was so dry you could drive thru cattails into where water used to be and drive out the other side without leaving tracks. We hunted an area of about 30 miles diameter around melville saskatchewan. Have been goining here for bout 10 years. On drive up saw lots of geese and few ducks. Once we scouted our area we ended up finding good amounts of ducks and geese. The 1st day hunted a barley field and shot 56 mallards and pintails, and 18 canadas in 55 mins. What a shootarama. & guys and a limit of ducks in 55 mins. WOW, well the week continued good with good scouting and great farmers (who we clean birds for and they gratefully take) the 7 of of us ended the week with 285 ducks, 127 canadas, and 14 snows and blues. And don't believe you cant decoy snows and blues in to canada decoys.. Wish we had s and b decoys since we found a field with over 7500 birds feeding in it. Well next year will be interesting with the sloughs dried up. Will try to find out how to post pictures, have never done that. And the best news is that my new 2018 Duckworth pacific navigator hard top is finnally being shipped from washington state this week. CANT WAIT.

Sounds like an awesome trip! Scouting seems to be the difference between groups that bag birds and the ones that don't in the dry conditions. We're leaving for Lamoure, ND on Friday for a week's stay. We freelance it as well and scout like crazy to get on good hunts. Can't wait!
