Thanks Guys. I would post the guide name but I don't know if that's OK. Here. You can just check into Lake Gogebic guides you will find the GUY that I fished with.

Wowza!! :shock I’ve been catching perch all winter on Lake Mendota, but not a single fish can compare to those bruisers. Those are huge!!! Congrats!

No Mr. Mike Far from it. I wouldn't be grippin' and grinning' if not for all of the expertise of my guide. He got me there. He put us on 'em. He showed me what to look for on the Vex ( I never used a Vex before ) and when to stop watching the Vex and switch to watching the spring bobber. The bite is barely visible. The food base there is Wigglers....May fly larvae. The food source is so vast that the Perch just swim around and swallow them Like a Whale skimming Plankton. Even the smallest movement of the spring bobber signals the the bait is in the fish's mouth. You have to be quick with the hook set or you will miss the bite completely.

Wow! Well done sir! When was this if you don't mind me askimg. I was there early Jan with much different results. Just curious... We were also on the southern half of the lake too. I'm guessing you were way up north. We were mostly targeting eyes too but our perch were few and far between when we were focusing on them.

Karl, I was up in Mid Feb. First day Feb 13 was up North. Weather was awful We were in a hard shack that day. Caught 0. I had originally booked for two days fishing. He had another day open so I grabbed it. Much better weather and bite the next two days. Those days we fished much further South.

Geo, nice to hear from you. Yep you don't detect much of a bite. Fish are delish of course.
