The Shabbona Sportsman Club is having their annual ROCKDROP on FEB 6th one week before the Annual Night fishing Feb 13th event when park is open to 10pm. Help-- we need you men with 4 wheelers to tow our rock sleds and brush piles. --- Please help Feb 6th @8:30 am; we will meet @ the park office. Please contact Rich by sending him a message @ the Shabbona Lake dot com website or call him direct on cell 815 751 9619. If we get enough 4 wheelers we can be done by 1pm or so.
Side note: Kerry Novak, Park Superintendent told us yesterday that the park will go to summer hours one month earlier to give the fishermen a better chance at the morning bite time period. So starting April 1st (not May as in previous years) the park will begin summer hours thru October---6am to 10pm-- Good news for us fishermen…

If you can bring a 4 wheeler, slap a hitch ball on it and we can use your trailer to carry rock out to the lake. There will also be wooden sleds to use to drag rocks over to each spot, though the trailers held more and made the job quicker.

Lastly, if we get some snow remember your plow attachment to help plow a path to the drop off points.

Officially we will meet @8:30 am at the park office/&maintenance Garage located @ far southwest end of park. just follow the park road from entrance all the way in until you can make a right turn on road leading to park office. (this road is about a block past where you would normally turn left to go to boat launch)
Yes some club members will stop @ Kountry Kitchen @ 7am to chow down. Feel free to join them if you wish. Kountry Kitchen is right on 30 in middle of town Shab on north side of street-Just look for all the cars parked there. There's a bank Farmers State bank? right across street. Should be done 1pm or so,We will grill some brats. afterwords.
