It almost felt like blasphemy to post bass related things in the walleye forum, here's the bass end of the trip.
Mike and I move onto smallies each day we limit or have our fill of sockets.
We found water temps ranging from 53 in the beginning of the week to 64 at trip's end.
Males were readying the beds up shallow while the fat sow bellied mama's lay in the deep to get ripe.

We have a 1 - 2 punch approach in figuring out activity level and depth location each day.
I crack Lucky Craft jerkbaits while Mike methodically picks apart the structure with soft plastics.
It's great teamwork and we've become quite successful at it over the years.
On average we release a dozen fish every 3 hours.
Most are cookie cutter males in the 16-17" range, but once in a while tiger striped footballs surpassing the 5lb mark come out to play. 8)~

Just love the squeal of the little kids in the back of the boat when they catch smallies, whether they are 3+ or 6+ feet tall.LOL

Sweet - thanks Mike! I'm not so sure I don't get more excited than the boy though.
My annual Memorial Day trip to Erie has be de-annualized at least for this year. Something about Disney (trip in a couple weeks) and $$$ etc etc etc blah blah. Damn mouse got me this year!!

I'm still trying to recover from that last tourney. I WISH I could blame the boy (or Michigander) - but it was pretty much all me. Brutal. My ego had just about recovered..... until today :doh :doh

May give this Erie thing a try over Thanksgiving......
