The answer is "No." At least not in my neck of the woods. I have been tossing frogs across the pond scum with decent success over the past week and a half.
Bass started getting on the beds about Wednesday but have been hitting well on beetle spins, frogs, and weedless worms.

I fished a frog the other day and a big bull frog canabalized it. So far all my bass have been on skirted spinner baits.

I fished a frog (love them, they are the most fun of all the lure types to me, lol) for a couple hours on Sunday, didn't get a hit. Switched to a spinner... nadda... switched to a shallow crankbait -- hit. Just gotta keep tryin to find the one that the bass in a particular location are attracted to I guess. LOL

Saw a bunch of huge tadpoles yesterday off the DP. Anyone ever used tadpoles as bait? How do you hook them if you do?

The very best way is to bite the "head" off and chew it up, thread what's left onto a 1/O kahle hook and slip sinker rig. Take the tail portion and throw it behind your back into the woods. Daily limit of 8 and total possession limit of 16.
