My buddy caught a 5 lb smallmouth today on LM. I will try to post a pic later when I get it from him. We were pre fishing for the tourney this weekend. He hit a brown tube, but I won't say where.

Thinking about fishing that tourney this weekend, was out on LM a little over a week ago and did very well, waiting to see what the weather will be like...will probably be fishing the Angler's Dream on Lake Cal sunday as well

It looks like it will be s south wind, but at 12mph. It seems like everyone has been having some luck out there. We were getting readings of about 48 degrees, so I am surprised the goby colors were working. I never really go into Lake Cal too much. Is it typically the same kind of fishing as LM, or is it more of a largemouth bite? Gobys hot in there, or more traditional?

Similar to the big lake, find some rock with decent water close by and you can catch em....more largemouth get caught but there are smallies in there as well and gobies are def in the mix... you will catch em on the same stuff as out on the big lake but can also have success on more traditional bass lures. The tourney limits are just beyond the last bridge before lake mich also so you can run up the river and catch some nice smallies, typically takes around 14lbs to win last tourney was about 12.

surprisingly the Lake Cal tourneys draw more boats usually then the Angler's Dream on LM does... I never really got that... figured people would want to get out on LM and have a shot at that 20lb sac

Hey guys, I'm new to this boating thing. Can someone tell me where to put in to access Lake Calumet? Do I come down the Cal Sag or through Lake Michigan? HELP!

You can go through the locks and enter through the Cal Sag or you can come in from Lake Michigan. Going through the locks is probably easier you can put in at river front pub it is 10$ launch maybe 15$ and is only a short idle away from the lock...once you exit the lock lake cal will be to your left and the river that takes you out to Lake Mich will be to your right

That pub ramp is pretty rough, however. I slashed my tire putting in there once...
