Hey I would like to compete in a bass fishing tournament in IL. I have always wanted to but dont have a boat or a partner. Is there anyone out there looking for a partner for an upcoming tournament.

Alright man heres what you do!

You dont need a partner...Here are two things you can do. Contact a local bass club. Most clubs are always looking for Co anglers.

The other thing you can do is fish as a co angler in the bass masters weekend series or in an FLW BFL division.

There are two FLW divisions that fish in or near IL. The illini and the great lakes division. Co angling you need a life jacket, tackle and about $120 to $140 to fish. (100 entry fee with a chance to win up to $3000 and $20 or $40 for gas money to the boater you draw.)

Good luck!

The first thing you need to decide is what level do you want to start at and at what stakes do you want to fish. A club is a great way to get exposure to fishing tournaments at lower costs and a lower competition level. You could fish out of the back of a boat and learn the basics of fishing tournaments. Do a search for the Illinois Bass Federation and they'll be a way that you can find a local club. If you want to fish for money, go with the wal's suggestion. Another option is the ABA (American Bass Anglers). You can go boat or no-boat and their entry fees are $75 per tournament. Good luck.
