Going out this fathers day on LM out of Waukegan. Gonna try for Salmon then perch and if all else fails I will try for smallies. Problem is I have never fished smallies on LM. I will be in a boat. Any suggestions? Look for me Small Grady White "Smells Like Fish"

Its your choice and nothing illegal about it, but the smallies are on their beds right now. The shore guys i have been talking to the past week have been very, very conscientious and were intentionally avoiding bass and targeting pan fish. Keep in mind that perch season reopens today. Maybe you could give perch a try instead? The smallies are all over the rip-rap on their beds right now.

Thanks , Didn't know that. I strongly believe in allowing any spawning fish to do just that. I wont try for them for a while.
Out of Waukegan from a boat do you have any suggestions as to what lures and how deep and where? Would love to have the kids catch a few.
BTW ...I always catch and release Bass.
