Went back to southern Illinois for a couple days to check on the crappie situation, that lake just blows my mind. We had our limit of fish both days and only fished a couple of areas that just keep producing. Time for another fish fry.

Gotta love a good fish fry with family.

What did you get them on?

All were caught on a 1/32nd oz. jig with a Ratso tail about 3 ft. under a bobber, most without any bait, or at times with a wax worm attached.

Used the chartreuse ratso tail for many years until the gulp alive minnow fry came out, then that became my go to bait. The ratso tip with a single spike accounted for many a braidwood gill, but the gulp did out fish it. Hence my switching baits.
