I'll be heading there with a few friends to go camping july 8th throu 11th and was just woundering if anyone has fished the virmillion river down there and have any tips on what to us for what? since its a river im assuming it will be basically the same as fishing other rivers just want to get a report on it so im prepared. thanks

I've fished it a few times when I was a student at U of I in Champaign-Urbana. The river is pretty narrow and depending on the amount of recent rain it will fish very differently. If the water is low I'd target bends in the river as it can get quite deep in some spots- I always did good on jigs and crawlers. If it is high, probably stick to fishing eddies behind log jams and other obstructions.
