GH and I got down to Sara and launched by about 2pm.
We hit a few known spots for Crappie but came up with none.
We did catch several nice Gills and some Chunky Punkies like the beauties pictured.
Some heavy ,hard fighting Warmouth ( Not pictured ) were also caught and released.
The lake was giving up a lot of nice Gills but we didn't go for Gills this time.

A couple of Ba.......I mean those Green things came in as well.
Image

Later in the afternoon we got into a bunch of Crappie but all were to small and were released.
Oh, we didn't keep any gills or Seeds either.

Day two started out slow but we did get into some Crappie.
Some even got to come ,back to the Hampton Inn for a little shower and shave.
Image

Day three ( The day of the friendly "Thornton Crappie Club" tourney) Turned out good .
Unfortunately, for the good guys, the Crappie didn't want to participate in a big way.
Image
The fish from the day before would have "Placed" us but that was then.

We shared in a lot of fun, food and even some "Coolies" for those so inclined.
The weather report last night caused an inter room call and a cancellation of fishing activities for today. :doh
High of 60 and SSW winds 20-30 MPH.
We trailered the GDN II and scooted back to Chi-Town. :D

Nope it's in Effingham. Cold 20-30 mph winds most of the
time.

J/K John, just that the goose is in a shortsleeve shirt- looks a lot warmer - but maybe no wind when you took the pics- ah, fishing is just plain living!! :D

BUBBA, Nice but windy weather the first two days. Friday cooler & a lot more windy. It got colder as the day got older.
We also had some light sprinkles later in the afternoon.

Husker,
It looks like ya did pretty well yourself. Nice Musky.

Yes it was really nice and warm Wed. & Thurs. in the 80's I thought the fishing was great as long as your catching something. Friday was little cooler and windy we only caught 8 between us, but was still fun. I am glad we didn't stay to fish Sat. with all the blowing winds. Once home and a good nights sleep I am ready to go again soon. Thanks John for the invite, and A big "THANK YOU" to your friend John also, for the invite to join in with all the people from "Thornton Crappie Club".

CP,
the place was already booked up due to the Thornton Crappie club outing. Ang & I decided to get in for the tourney a little late.
I rented a slip at the Marina across the way. We stayed in town at the Hampton ( there's a story here ) for just a few bucks more than AA. Lots more perks there including warm breakfast every day.
Still had a nice trip.
