Tomorrow and "old" friend of mine and i are heading out to the strip mines in search of walleyes crappie and bass. Prob just minnows and jigs. Any other ice out tips? |

I'm not very good at walleye in pits by any means, but the few i've gotten seem to like rock cover and shallower water(for a pit) and early spring I would look for a dark bottom. You also have to be a ninja when coming in, long casts and move quite. Good luck ![]() |

Along with the darker bottom and rock areas, focus on the areas that have springs if you know where they are at. You will have warmer water. |
